Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo

I am no fan of Judy Ann Santos pero eversince I got married sobrang gusto ko talaga panoorin ung Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo. Hala!

Mama's special day

Today is my Mama's birthday! I'm super excited because I'm going to see her again after 5 days.. hehehe... I miss her.. as in everyday miss ko sha.. And aside from our usual texting, i make it a point to call her everyday... And it never fails to brighten my day whenever I hear her say, Hello Awis? hehehe

She's turning 53 today and one of these days... masasabi na naman niya na she's getting old and that she already looked old. Always remember Mama na kapag tumanda ka na, I am going to take care of you katulad ng pag-alaga mo sa amin ni kuya nung bata pa kami. You don't have to be afraid to grow old because I am going to be here for you. Happy Birthday, Mama! I LOVE YOU!

The Underground River

We were advised by the locals of Palawan that we must experience the beauty of the Underground River. So we had to forego our plan to go island hopping in Honday Bay since sabi nila we can do island hopping kahet hindi sa Palawan (so true naman diba?! with 7,107 islands!) But not the Underground River... Sa Palawan lang daw meron nun.. We got convinced! Ang dali nameng bumenta! hahaha

So the adventure started on an early Sunday morning (btw, that was Palm Sunday.), we hired a van to take us to the Sabang Port... before we started the journey.. we dropped by a convenience store coz we were advised by manong driver to buy insect repellant lotions... I got kinda confused... why in the world would we be needing those??? ang napipicture ko kase eh white sand... clear waters... cave... hindi ko lang maiisip kung papasok ang insect repellant lotions... pwede pa siguro sunblock diba?! Anyways.. took his advice and bought sandamakmak na lotions na din...

It took us 2 hours of bako bakong kalye before we got to the port.. grabee! as in rough talaga!!! feeling ko nakalog talaga utak ko... and as soon as we got there... hindi na kame nagpatumpik tumpik... nagpahid na kame ng off lotion! At shempre pa.. we took pictures...

So from Sabang port... we had to ride a banca to take us to a secluded beach where the Underground River is... grabee.. dami nameng nadaanan mga rock formation... sobrang feel na feel namen talagang nasa Palawan na kame... pagdating namen dun... picture pa din! just can't resist the beauty of the rock formation and the white sand... sobrang Palawan na Palawan!

Kelangan mo magpenetrate inside the Park to get to the Underground River tas before they will allow you to ride your bance (to take you inside the Cave), again you need to register and wear your life vest and a hard hat... Si manong bangkero will act as the tour guide na din. By the way, the only source of light that your boat has will come from the flashlight provided by manong bangkero... at kapag naubos na battery... goodluck na lang sa inyo! hehehe... Now I know why we need insect repellant lotions. Pero kakatuwa naman ang mga stalagmites and stalactites sa loob... at panalo ang mga kwento ni manong! hehehe Truly, it was an interesting experience... We'll do it again siguro after 5 to 10 years later pero sana pagbalik namen ala pa din pakalat kalat ng crocodiles and snakes inside the cave.

Butterfly Farm

The Butterfly Farm is located in Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa. The entrance fee is at 50 pesos each. We were asked to watch a 10-minute video before we were allowed to enter the grounds.

It's a very delicate place.. i mean.. dealing with cocoons, butterflies and all... exactly the opposite when we visited the rough, adventure-filled crocodile farm.

It was so peaceful there...very relaxing although you always need to watch your every move because you might accidentally step on the butterflies since they are roaming freely within the screened area...

Paglabas mo dun sa screened area... there were also other animals but they were inside an acquarium...

The Crocklets

Our first stop in Palawan was at the Irawan Crocodile Farm. We hired a tricycle to take us to the farm. The entrance fee is around 40 pesos each which covers a quick tour (with a guide, of course!) until the area where they take care of the baby crocodiles.

You can see a very big skeleton of a crocodile at the lobby of the small building and this was captured in Palawan after it killed atleast one child.

I was really overwhelmed with the tanks full of baby crocodiles... (there goes my imagination again, hehe)
Part of the tour is crossing a bridge under which were really bigger crocodiles... Haaay... was hesitant to cross the bridge kase feeling ko baka masira tas kainin kame ng mga hungry crocodiles... although we were assured na nung time ng visit namen eh busog sila... hahaha... (funny tour guide!) Arvin was also afraid to cross the bridge pero since ala naman kameng choice... Go na lang kame! Ngayon lang namen nalaman na the crocodiles can keep their mouths open up to an hour for heat regulation... they will hold their mouth open either to cool off or warm up...

After our short death-defying scene with the crocodiles... we were told na we can wander around the farm where a variety of animals were kept.

Bearded Pig Ang pa-cute na Owl

The farm was very photogenic.. kaya panay ang pakuha namen ng picture!! feeling prenups daw ulet! ahahaha

Our visit to the farm was truly unforgettable.. lalo na kay Arvin since he took the courage to have a photoshoot with a 3-year old crocodile (although meron naman rubber ung mouth so...???!!! ewan ko!!) ... As in kinarga niya ung crocodile!!! Argh! Just the thought .... as in ewwwwww...

I just had to post this pic just to let you know that I really did try to carry the crocodile but my efforts were futile.

Trip to Palawan

Our first trip to Palawan! The best way to spend our 97th day as hubby and wifey... haha! My second time to ride a plane! Haha!

We had an early morning flight so you can just imagine how early we had to wake up in order to make it in time for the the required check-in time... Excited kase kame! hehe.. I can't describe how I'm feeling that morning because it's my first out-of-town trip with my husband and to add to that... sa Palawan pa kame pupunta! Sobrang mixed emotions!
We had a stress-free plane ride from Manila to Palawan. Though there's one thing that I won't forget... It's the snack packs (Choice of coffee, tea or juice + Choco coated cake, rebisco and Happy Peanuts) that were served during our trip! Pambihira!! Walang katulad!!! Hahaha! Only in the Philippines!

When we arrived in Puerto Princesa Airport.. somebody from the Legend Hotel was already waiting for us and it took us not more that 15 minutes to reach the Hotel.

Discovered a lot about Palawan...Most of them speak tagalog...Tricycle fare costs P6.00 only... Hagedorn is the city Mayor... Malinis!!! bawal daw kase magkalat (just like in Singapore daw)... Mababait ang mga tao! Parang walang manloloko! haha...

Palawan is truly a PARADISE! We're going to buy a rest house there someday (kapag nanalo na kame sa lottery!) We truly found our haven in Palawan.
